Understanding your KPUD Bill

January 09, 2012

Below is a sample of a typical KPUD residential electric bill along with an explanation of the different sections of the bill:

 KPUD Billing Sample

1.  This is the section of your bill that you will tear off and return to us along with your payment if you are paying by mail or in person. If you read your own meter also be sure to include your current meter reading along with the date you read your meter.

2.  This portion of the bill is for you to keep as your receipt for payment.

3.  Here is where you can see how your bill was calculated. In this example, there are 32 days between meter readings on 8/18/2011 and 9/19/2011. Also listed in this section would be the current and previous meter reading that this bill is calculated from. For customers in areas where we provide water, sewer, or lighting, those charges would be listed here as well. For your convenience there are listings of your recent usage as well as a comparison for this same period the previous year.

4.  The balance recap section of the bill shows the balance on your last statement and any payment that was received. Here you can also see a total of all current charges and the new balance on your account as well as the due date.

5.  Be sure to pay attention to this section of your bill and check for important information about your account or other special messages from KPUD.

If you have any additional questions or would like to review your individual KPUD bill, please feel free to give us a call or stop by our local office. We would be happy to help you.
