September 26th, the Washington Department of Commerce announced the completion of the Washington Families Clean Energy Credits Program (WFCEC), an initiative that provided $200 energy bill credits to more than 690,000 low- and moderate-income households across the state.
Klickitat PUD was able to qualify 2,456 local household despite the tight program timeline. From start to finish all KPUD customers were qualified and funded within 45 days.
Klickitat PUD awarded $490,000 in customer assistance before the program cap was met and program was closed. Roughly 72% of KPUD customers were pre-qualified because they previously received assistance from: Klickitat PUD Senior Discounts, Low Income Energy Assistance (LIHEAP), Operation Warm Heart (OWH) or payment arrangements.
Klickitat PUD partnered with PROMISE to aid in the customer qualifying process. This partnership provided data collection resources and tools previously unavailable to KPUD and streamlined the process.
