   Landfill Gas Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Technician.

Reports To: LFG Site Supervisor
Status: Non-exempt
Salary Grade: Level 8

Summary Safely perform supervised and unsupervised operation and maintenance tasks associated with the H.W. Hill Renewable Natural Gas plant. Maintain plant instrumentation, control and electrical systems Operates in conjunction with LFG O&M Technicians. May be required to provide Operational Shift Coverage.

Job Responsibilities and Functions:

• Install, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace plant instrumentation equipment including pressure, temperature, level and flow devices
• Install, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace plant control systems including programmable logic controllers.
• Install, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace plant Continuous Emissions Monitoring System equipment (CEMS)
• Install, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and replace plant electrical components including motors, motor controllers, batteries and battery chargers, lighting, heating and other misc. systems, de-energized on up to 480VAC systems
• Work with KPUD line and meter departments to install, test and maintain high voltage systems.
• Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and training as necessary on all plant systems
• Participate in maintenance activities and planned shutdowns
• Provide emergency shift coverage as necessary
• Input data and use the LFG site CMMS system and maintain spares inventory tracking for all plant systems. Document problems and the actions taken to resolve them in accordance with Station policies and procedures
• Provide technical and operational support to LFG O&M Technicians.
• Interface and coordinate with landfill technicians
• Maintain positive relations with internal and external customers and regulatory agencies
• Contribute to the preparation of production, maintenance and environmental reports.
• Ensure that the management is kept informed of plant performance and equipment problems and other issues as necessary
• Read and interpret technical drawings, vendor manuals, and work procedures
• Other duties as assigned that may include gas field scope of work and work on associated RNG pipelines.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 5 years relevant gas or power plant experience.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite
Working Conditions and Other Requirements
• Normal shift hours are Monday-Friday. Some shift work may be required.
• Overtime may be required for maintenance, break-downs and PTO coverage.
• Ability to scale and work off ladders and platforms accessing equipment via vertical rung-type, cage-enclosed ladders.
• Lift items up to 40 lbs
• Exposure to noise from power plant and construction equipment.
• Forklift Certification
• Valid Washington State Drivers License.
• Current First Aid/CPR Card
• Compliance with Mandatory DOT initial and random drug testing as a condition of employment. Failure to test may be considered job abandonment.
• Successfully complete all assigned training tasks. Some training outside of Klickitat County may be required.

 

  • IT System Tech Trainee – II ( based on skills )

    This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operation of the operating system of the servers, PCs, and other hardware and software, which includes mail services, web services, and databases. Responsible for ensuring proper capacity, reliability, and security of the server equipment.
